Wrap it up Folks.

So after a full day of rehearsals Sunday, it was finally time for the show Sunday night. My family and girlfriend met me in Chapel Hill for dinner before the show. I was especially excited that they made the drive to come see my show as well as all my friends from UNC who came.  The show was awesome! Memorial Hall was almost completely full, which says a lot, and all of the performances went great. I was a little concerned about my dance looking bad, because everyone just looked tired during rehearsal and were forgetting to perform and smile. Anyways, from what I heard, everything went well. I know I promised to post a video, but the girl that videotaped my dance has not responded to my email yet. If I get a video sometime this week, I will post the video. If not, well most of you are now friends with me on Facebook after last week’s Facebook talk, and I am sure it will be uploaded soon. If you would like to see other dances I was in, checked my tagged videos on Facebook.
So today was very exciting for me. After a third hour-long phone interview, I received a job as a Cabin Counselor at Victory Junction Gang Camp. If you haven’t heard of Victory Junction, you’re missing out. This summer camp is for children with illnesses and medical conditions and is honestly one of the coolest places I have ever visited.  Sorry for the random news, but it has been an exciting day.
As the semester winds down, I got to thinking about my first year at Carolina. I honestly am really sad to leave in two weeks. Carolina is my new home and as much as I love being at home with family, it’s going be hard to leave all my friends I have met this year. I know we will all be back in August, but it’s kind of the same feeling as leaving high school to go college. (Except leaving high school to come to college was the best thing that has happened in my life). I hope next year will be even better than this year. I personally feel like I have grown as a person, student, and a teammate. Through crazy weekends, all nighters in The UL, football and basketball games, and every other aspect of college, Carolina has been amazing. I can’t wait for next year.

  1. It sounds like the show went great! I didn’t know it was going on, but it sounds like it was really cool. Victory Junction sounds awesome too, I’m also working at a camp this summer, but it doesn’t sound quite as cool… I’ll be working at Camp Agape in Fuquay-Varina, it’s a Lutheran camp out in the woods for mostly elementary and middle schoolers, and I’m really excited to work there. It’ll be a huge change from the stressful, constantly busy life here at UNC. Instead of having a thousand different things to do, I’ll just have one. I’m looking forward to spending the weeks there without my phone or Facebook, although I’ll definitely be using those on the weekends.

I’m going to miss UNC in the summer too, and I’m really excited for next year. After about a month at UNC I started confusing my Mom whenever I talked about going back to Raleigh; I’d call both Raleigh and UNC home. It’s been an awesome year!
